Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE)
"The mission of the ACCE Institute is to improve the lives of California's traditionally underserved residents, including communities of color, low-income and working families, and the undocumented population, by carrying out work that fosters deep, indigenous leadership development, policy creation, robust civic participation, and broad community empowerment. ACCE is dedicated to raising the voices of everyday Californians, neighborhood by neighborhood, to fight for the policies and programs we need to improve our communities and create a brighter future."
ACCE has been a consistent ally of low-income communities and was an early responder to the foreclosure crisis in Oakland, Richmond, and East Contra Costa County. Currently, rents are skyrocketing, low-income tenants are being evicted, and whole neighborhoods are threatened. Together with trusted partner organizations, ACCE is protecting renters' rights through advocacy, policy changes, and ballot measures. In Central Contra Costa County, ACCE is working with tenants, landlords, and city officials to secure dignified and healthy housing for renters.
